Windows 10/11 ARM support for Lumia 950 XL
Thanks to the update released for Lumia 950 XL, DirectX 11 applications offer Hardware accelerated GPU support. The Adreno 430/418 GPU in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810/808 chipset can work in accordance with the Intel 386 architecture.
The Lumia 950 and 950 XL were released in 2015 as part of Microsoft’s effort to promote the Windows 10 Mobile operating system. However, the platform’s life was short-lived and official support ended. Nevertheless, an unofficial ‘Windows on ARM’ (WOA) project is being developed for Lumia devices.
The latest driver update also emerged as a result of the work of the Lumia WOA community. The community is working to increase the capabilities of older smartphones and provide users with the Windows experience even after the end of official support from Microsoft.
The Windows 10/11 ARM project now offers comprehensive support for the Lumia 950 series. The latest driver update works on various versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11. Supported Windows versions include Windows 10 Build 19041 (2004) and later and Windows 11 Build 22000 (21H2) and later.
